2019 Annual PSQI Day

PDSA Cycle

We have established an Annual Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Day to highlight patient safety and quality improvement activities among our residents, fellows, medical students, faculty, and hospital health care team members.  The first event was held May 16, 2014, and was an overwhelming success.  The 6th Annual Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Day is scheduled for Friday, May 10, 2019, in the Pierce Conference Room in the new Kennedy Children's Outpatient Center.  Interested medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, nursing and other healthcare workers may submit a proposal for consideration to their Chairs or Program Directors for approval by Tuesday, March 25, 2019.  Once approved at the department level, proposals will be submitted by Program Directors or Chairs to Dr. Alan Kohrt, our Assistant Dean for Faculty Development and Quality by April 2, 2019.  The PSQI Advisory and Selection Committee will meet before April 9 to make selections for presentation at the event on May 10, 2019.

Proposal Form Details:

  • The proposal author(s) must indicate on the proposal form whether or not it might be presented or published outside our institution. If you do not plan to present your project externally or submit for publication, you can disregard that step.  If you do plan to present your proposal at any external conference or venue (other than at our Annual PSQI Day our outside the institution, or if you might want to submit it for journal publication, you must submit your proposal and the appropriate IRB form to Stacey Hendricks, our IRB Administrator, by March 6, 2019, in order to be considered at the March 27, 2019 IRB meeting.
  • If it might be considered for external presentation or publication, the proposal must first be submitted to our Institutional Review Board to determine if the project is exempt from IRB approval, requires expedited approval from the IRB Chair, or requires consideration and approval from the full IRB.
  • Dates for submission and consideration at IRB meetings may be found by clicking here to view our IRB Overview webpage.
  • Stacey Hendricks, IRB Administrator, can be contacted regarding appropriate review and forms required by the IRB -- either Form B or Form H (stacey.hendricks@erlanger.org or by phone 423-778-3818).
